Just a quick update. hehe

I swear I tried my best to update. Seems like it was only yesterday when I wrote that it was almost June or just turned June. My days are crazier than before and for that I am grateful. hehehe.

Just a quick round up:

So the month started with my being featured in SparkUpPh the millenial arm of BussinessWorld!!!!! I’m not even 30 yet and i have been featured there! I love the whole team and I will forever support them.

By far the best article and feature ever written for me.

Read it here:

My madame friend celebrated her birthday and of course I will never miss it for the world.

I flew first thing in the morning. Literally the first flight out to shop with the one and only queen of all media.

Traveling with her is so much fun! She has this new passion for everything vintage- which I will discuss in the next article.

Ate Kris is fun to be with. She gets happy with the little things, believe me and her happiness is contagious! haha! You get happy when you see her happy. (more Japan trip experience on a different post)

On the day of my arrival – my very own column in spotted magazine was published—-one of my dreams (huhu)

you can read it here

Dissecting #therealFake issue (part 2)

As I mentioned in my earlier entry, this issue earned its own rightful place in my blog because mainly, it questioned my integrity as a business person.

Allow me to cover the points covered by Preview’s article on the infamous shirt.

The title-

Did Marian Rivera Really Wear a Fake Dolce & Gabbana Logo Tee?- suggestive much?

Marian’s personal shopper “sets things straight.”- the bunny ears have so much meaning to them.

The use of a more subtle and more positively scripted words such as “has been caught up” seemed to make the critic the protagonist in this story.
Coupled with “taking a firm stand,” this seals the image they created for the commenter as someone who has rock- solid proof of her claims.
Meanwhile, when it was yours truly’s turn to be added to the mix, I was introduced with such a strong a word as RETALIATE. Which could have been easily replaced with “also came to answer or reply.” Which would have balanced out the portrayal of both sides. Whatchathink?
This section made it look like namedropping is a bad thing. Don’t you think? Plus the use of claiming in such a strongly worded sentence paints a picture of doubt, making me look less and less credible.
A good portion of the article as published focused on the “facts” as supplied by a certain Anne Bonhomme. Adding the statement “This is the only only design D&G authorized for release in the women’s line blah blah blah” kind of seals the argument presented by the Parisienne regardless of the subsequent sentence stating Marian’s was wearing a shirt from the kids’ line. The first sentence is irrelevant as the bone of contention is whether the shirt is authentic or not. Irrelevant yes, because the shirt is not from the women’s line so NO NEED to bring that moot argument up. It overshadowed the latter sentence stating that the design in question can be found in another line. As if it weren’t enough, another paragraph was dedicated to strongly emphasize the points brought up by Anne which again, bags the question “Why?”
This could have been worded differently if the voice of the article is to be consistently objective all throughout. To make her case could have been replaced with- In addition, Aimee sent the receipt of the shirt purchase. She also furnished us a copy of a service agreement memo between her and D & G. Again, incorrectly using the terms “make her case,” “backs up her claims,” “that were said to be issued,” paints a picture of a shady character in me. Why can’t they exercise parallelism and quote me the way they quoted Anne Bonhomme who they just caught snippets of comments from and have not directly interviewed unlike me?
Again, “claims.”
Looking for proof to corroborate my “assertions,” when they took Anne BonHomme’s comments on IG as gospel truth with very minimal to zero critique of the same. Now tell me, am I paranoid or was I really roasted in this article?
Lastly, they went to the website to validate but they have YET to get an official statement from the brand itself. So why the strongly worded article then?

Several points I want to make in response to the writer’s Facebook post directed to me (This was all after I made my thoughts public after reading the article):

  1. This article was written in good faith and without malicious intent.– see my points in every photo grab from the article and you be the judge whether it was malicious, subjective or not.
  2. I included what I included and I did not what I did not because, as an editor, I am morally obligated to verify, and in effect filter out, all the relevant information (given statements, its inconsistencies, and the so-called “evidences”) before presenting them to the readers.– so how come no effort to talk to Anne was made to support her claims and why did you not wait for D & G to respond prior to posting the article?
  3. If you’re really a writer as you claim to be, then you should know that THIS is exactly how responsible journalism works. It means not being in the business of protecting anyone, so I honestly don’t understand why for some insane reason you think you should have been an exception.– I only asked to be put into a fair light in the same manner you pretty much did to Anne.
  4. You do not get to violate my privacy and post my number on social media. You do not get to question my integrity as a writer especially after I even made a follow-up and gave you the chance to clarify your statement (so at least now you know there’s no “teens line” in D&G). You do not get to post snippets of our conversation and falsely imply that it’s the entire thing. You do not get to be inconsistent about your statements and then cry foul after. So no, you do not get to tell me how to do my job when you’re the one being questioned here about how you do yours.- a) You reached out to me in a professional capacity so it is my understanding that the number you are using is publicly listed as it was used for business purposes (see the contact’s name? It said Preview not yours). In the same manner that my number is posted on my IG account as a seller.; b) I did not question your integrity. I questioned the wordings and since you said you quoted me verbatim in our exchange after I commented on the article, I questioned if it were verbatim, then how come there are so many omissions?; c) Yes I posted snippets but never have I claimed that they were the entire thing. I just highlighted the ones that were not included in the article that’s supposedly quoted me verbatim.; d) You implied that I am inconsistent because you interviewed me via chat which translates different meanings based on interpretation. I specifically informed you that Marian wears teens’ sizes but you implied that I was referring to the shirt in question when I was stating a general truth about her dress size. Had you called me up and recorded the conversation as any other reported would, you would have noted that I was not inconsistent, just misunderstood. I now go back to the point you said that as a journalist, you have the responsibility to validate and verify things, if things were unclear after our exchange, why did you go ahead and publish it without verifying from me first? Why did you even ask if you can publish the receipt without anything being blacked out even when you know my information including Amber points can be hacked when posted online?; e) Lastly, I thought it was an article to validate the authenticity of the shirt, how come now you say it is now about how I conduct my business?
  5. P.S. I’ve been struggling with myself trying to hold it in since yesterday, but I’ve had enough of bullies like you. #sorrynotsorry– I think you had it wrong. Who bullied whom? Who is at the receiving end of all the hate? Whose business stands on the line here?

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Now, back to regular programming. 🙂

Dissecting #therealFake issue (part 1)

The events of late have caused so much fanfare that it requires its own entry on my blogsite.

In my years of being in the personal shopping business, I have been on the receiving end of both acclaim and criticism. As far as the Chinese proverb goes, “Eat bitter, taste sweet,” I believe I am the perfect sample of this. You all know my story, you’ve read it in the number of features made about me so allow me to OBJECTIVELY address the issue that sparked a debate and piqued national interest since it was first posted several days ago.

As public figures, my clientele have been subjects of these kinds of media entries since time immemorial. In the business of fashion and personal shopping, the honor of wearing and owning something rare is a testament of their status so it does not seem surprising at all when two stars who wore something similar are pitted against each other from time to time. I do not have a problem with that. Because I am neither any of the stars nor am I the focus of the so- called “better” challenge.

But why have I been so involved with this issue in particular? The answer is found on the same IG entry, when a close acquaintance of one of the stars posted a comment that goes:

Normally, I would shrug it off like how I would the countless tirades thrown my way. After all, my client herself does not mind, so why should I? But after careful assessment of the wordings used in this first comment, I decided I had enough. Why?

  • She said- “is there a debate when this Marian girl is wearing a fake one?” As I have been shopping for the person in question for a long time now, the direct accusation (see further image below) of her wearing fake is inadvertently directed to my skillset as a curator of premium items and goods. This puts my business practice in question and is therefore, directed to my credibility as an honest- to- goodness personal shopper.

  • Her certainty, as evidenced in the further comments above, questioned my business’ integrity by sowing doubt and strengthening her position re: authenticity of my sourced item which by the way, is totally irrelevant to the post of “who wore it better.”

  • To make things interesting, when she could not take the bashing her comments solicited, she switched to another IG handle so that people could not tag her further. If she were certain of her claims, why budge? Why make oneself anonymous?

  • Another interesting point I have to raise here is the fact that the person who questioned the item supposedly works for a premier brand. As someone who has been in this line of work for years on end, I question her ethics. The brand she works for may not aware of her actions outside of work but as a brand ambassador (in her own way), she should know better than to haphazardly comment about these things without substantiating her claims.

This issue certainly put an interesting spin to my existence as I am overwhelmed by the sheer support I get from my family, friends and clients alike. Even people who do not personally know me have reached out and cited the many instances whereby my values cannot be questioned.

I need not prove anything as my work alone can speak for itself. But sometimes, you have got to stand up for what you have worked so hard for and not allow yourself to be bullied into silence.

In retrospect, I am FLATTERED.

Flattered because I am so blessed that this episode is proof of how far I’ve come and how far I still can go.

Flattered because as my good friends would put it, “I have arrived.” And arrive I have. Not only have I been in business with big brands but I am under the radar of some individuals who seem to lavish in thoughts of destroying the brand I have worked so hard for that they resort to personal attacks when they could not find an argument worthy enough to highlight.

Flattered because in spite and despite of the drama and hate, I am still on a roll. And this is just the beginning…

Cheers to more partnerships, newfound friends, loving families and friends. And to my critics, a MASSIVE thanks for keeping me grounded. Your daily commentaries only make me work harder on my craft to deliver only the BEST to the BRIGHTEST of people.

Singapore jazz festival and gabbana preview

It was another random trip with kitty kat in tow.

As always, it’s such a pleasure working and having fun at the same time, with my BFF.

SQ lounge

because comfort comes first. my room 🙂
Gastronomic delight 😛

The event was by invite-only and we were escorted to the VIP section where the bosses of AP were located. I feel extremely happy to get the kind of support their team extended. I am also given the chance to get custom-made orders for my clients. Which isn’t available to all. Extremely grateful to be able to offer another unique and personalized service to my clients.

Right after the event we had to rush to Orchard for the exclusive preview of Dolce and Gabbana. I held a small live session on Instagram and was totally delighted that the viewers learned a thing or two. It makes my job all the more meaningful and fulfilling when I get to impart even the slightest bit of trivia to others.

‘Til my next adventure!

Horror Fashion Designer

Hi guys! I know I’ve pretty much updated my readers about how we were so excited for Kakat’s big day. It was a successful event save for the designer who made me and Kat cry since she didn’t know how to appease an irate customer.

28 Jan 17:

We had our final fitting. I joked the sewers around and asked them to add more lace and flow to the skirt. As I was in my natural playful self, Rach told me that the sewers were taking side glances and were actually making faces. I didn’t give any of those attention.

02 Feb 17

My chauffeur picked up my gown from their store. Before stepping out for my meeting that day, I put on the gown. Only to be disappointed. The gown was totally different. It had no shape, lose on the bottom and extremely tight on top. Apart from that, beadings were not properly placed, lace trimmings not sewn completely and zip pull malfunctioning.

I called my bestfriend and sent her videos and photographs. She called the shop and informed them about it. Keeping in mind that they have business hours, we rushed and braved the metro traffic only to be told when I was nearly there that no one can attend to us anymore.

The following day, I dropped by the store. Upset irrate and on the brink of deciding not to march I talked to the staff and informed them how disappointed I was. Naturally, any normal person who waited for her best friend’s big day will be disappointed and irate when instead of telling me they can’t execute properly they told me beforehand that it was doable. I expected, of course. Unfortunately, the staff kept on insisting that it was nice and that it fits well when in reality they all knew it was the other way around. After several times of them insisting, after telling them I really don’t feel comfortable and that it wasn’t really okay, I told them: “oo ate sayo okay, pero ako na magsusuot ako na nakakaramdam hindi talaga” in a rather pissed tone.

After a split second, the designer whom I’ve never met comes in raising her voice asking me what my problem was (wow I’ve never in my entire life did that to any client ). I told her what I’ve been telling everyone repeteadly. She in turn talked to me in such a manner using technical terms for designers. As a client I asked her to pls tell me the difference between the terms she were explaining. She couldn’t. Perhaps thinking that everyone knows what she’s talking about. BTW, she introduced herself this way: ” ako pala si … ako yung designer.” So okay. She told me not to be upset and I answered: “it’s impossible not to be upset bukas na ang kasal and sobrang layo ng damit” she immediately lost her temper. Since I knew myself better than anyone, I just told her that it won’t work and that I’ll just have to look for an alternative one just in case she can’t make it in time. She slammed the curtains and when I was just about to remove the dress, she shouted mind you with all the staff and other people around: ” sama ng ugali mo”. Shocked and totally puzzled, I stepped out and asked her: “what did you just say?”.

Normally any businessman in any field would try his best to make things better. She on the other hand, started blabbing things and didn’t even say sorry to me nor did she try to make me feel better. Humiliated, I told her: “don’t fix it” she said that I didn’t have to pay for it and that “wala akong pakialam kahit ikaw nagbayad ng gown ng bride”.

I called Bill and asked him to pick me up. Upon entering the car I couldn’t help myself but burst into tears. Was uncontrollably sobbing. So Bill asked me, what the hell happened. So I told him what transpired inside. He then stepped out of the car. Knocked the door and excused her from her staff so they can privately talk about what happened with the right amount of privacy and decency. She then started saying that we were cursing and all. Never sorry but admitted that she did such a thing. I was surprised to hear how she twisted the real story. I then messaged the bride, and a renowned designer who happens to be my friend. He was humble enough to tell me what to do. He helped me and endorsed me to his shop. Although they didn’t have the color that was needed I thanked him and asked him to create a piece for me for my next event.

I searched and went to another famous designer’s shop. Luckily I found a dress that can blend well with the color scheme. To my horror an unknown caller threatens me: “… (cursing) hahanapin kita at mumurahin kita tandaan mo” surprised I asked him who he was. He then said that he’s the husband of the designer. Hmmm..

For one, not being able to keep your calm in a situation while dealing with a client was already off. Second, for someone who only heard one side to go and call a private individual, paying customer at that matter and threaten her is something below the belt.

So I composed myself went to the hotel and met up with my girls. Come dinner time, Kakat got a call from an unknown number. Thinking that it was a shoemate client, she picked up. Only to be surprised when a guy started talking and shouting to her. Even I was taken aback. I didn’t even tell her what happened so as not to ruin her day and stress her out. Yet, here comes the tandem calling her accusing her and asking her to take accountability for what happened. The guy didn’t stop. He was also probing and demanding Kat to give an apology. Can anyone pls enlighten me? Is it just me who failed to comprehend their actions or is it really something they shouldn’t have done? I actually have a recording of the conversation which we already submitted to our lawyer. Kakat started crying uncontrollably. Imagine. Less than 24 hrs before her wedding and I felt so bad for her. She called the designer and told her about what happened and was also asking why such thing should be done to her. She is afterall the bride.

I would’ve let it pass but when Kat told me that she was really hurt and felt helpless. I decided to call Atty. Frias and asked her to take necessary actions. I also was advised to write about the incident so as to let everyone know that we were threathened by a person who we barely even know. Just because they supposedly own the shop and that we were mere clients.

It was such a nightmare for us. In the first place if Kat didn’t think of the expenses I will be incurring, she would’ve been a Libiran or Leyva bride. What was supposedly our savings turned out to create more expenses om our side. 😅😂  anyway, what’s done is done and it’s time to deal with things properly. Thankfully, her wedding day was a success. Eventhough the designer didn’t show herself and dressed her up (she sent a tailor) we were able to put it aside for the time being and enjoy the moment. Now, back to reality.  😉

Bag Of The Day. My Vintage Gem.

Wee! will finally start working tomorrow. Been married to the bedroom this past coupla days. Preparing for another meeting tomorrow. Something I’ve been waiting for and is extremely special. I can actually consider it a milestone for my career. Yii!!

As I was organizing my stuff, (got my new dolce and gabbana notebook today wee) I chose my beautiful vintage gem of a baby to use for tomorrow.

My vintage Kelly 32 ostrich sellier in gold hardware.

Unlike my pink birdie, this one is more structured since it’s sellier. I use it for more formal meetings since it looks more business like unlike the relax feel of the pink retourne which I often use for casual days out.

Will update this post with what’s in my bag by tomorrow. Happy Friday everyone!

Marian’s Love Affair With Florals Is Forever.

There are a lot of things we can associate with Yan that makes her really happy.

If you’re a keen follower of her account, Flowers whether real or printed— on her bags, shoes or clothes are a constant in her feeds. The sight of blossoms makes her extremely elated.

Several days ago I posted her latest loot. All dolce and gabbana nonetheless. Before showing you some of what we shopped, I collected some photos via the net (photo credits to pep, marian ootd and google) of the queen wearing her signature floral printed clothes.

Even foreign designer Jao, made a beautiful dress with floral appliqués for her.

There was also a time when she owned the brooch trend with her floral brooches from designer houses of course.

It’s just as lovely as her. Like flowers that always blossoms beautifully, Marian is ever so blooming. Her aura is fresh, radiant, young and carefree.

Take a look at some of her latest addition to her lust-worthy wardrobe.

Like a kid, she was extremely happy to see the beautiful floral patterns on the blouses, dresses and Zia’s apparel too! You may view the rest as posted on my intagram page and soon on Marian OOTD. Wee!

So expect more impeccable twinning post pretty pretty soon.

To make you feel more excited, I’m delaying my article on her shoeeeees. I’m thinking if I should make it top 15 or 20 hahahha!!!

Bags Fit For A Queen – Primetime Queen Marian Rivera Shares Her Top 5 Favorite Bags

Happy New Year guys!

Of course my first post for the year has to be special. So today, let me share with you what our queen, Marian Rivera’s top 5 favorite bags are!

I know you’ve all been waiting for this. Of course as per every post, I ask for permission from the featured artist before I make my article. I told Yan I wanted this to be my first post for 2017. It was quite difficult for her to downsize her favorites and come up with only 5 since we know that her bag collection is massive. HAHA! I personally cannot recall how many she owns. As I mentioned before she is the type who buys something in all colors once she falls in love with the brand and the design.

Evidently, her Hermes collection alone is to die for. Not to mention other designer bags she has amassed over the years.

So what are the top 5 bags of our queen?

5. Princess Diana Bag from Lana Marks

Designed by Lana Marks for the late Princess Diana.

I wrote about this bag several articles ago. It made quite a buzz in the entertainment industry, not only on social media but the press picked up the story as well (When we first revealed this bag). Naturally, like I said Yan has this ‘Midas touch’. She can turn anything unknown to be the next big thing. Take it from me. I’ve been working with her closely and I’ve seen how some designers we barely even know skyrocketed to a list status after she wore them. As expected, everyone talked about it. For one, she’s the first Filipina to ever own this as per Lana Marks herself, who even wrote a hand-written note congratulating her for that.

She debuted the said bag on Zia’s 1st birthday celebration with Godparents and friends, nonetheless. A very remarkable bag for a very special occasion.

A bag designed for a Royalty deserves to be owned by another royalty (in showbiz that is 😉 )

4. Analeena croc

Awaiting go signal to post the pic.  😀

FYI, Olivia Palermo is crazy in love with this brand

3. Suvimol My sweet box Himalayan croc leather

Long before she showed her collection to the public, Yan and I were contemplating on which bags from the brand to get. If my memory serves me right, She was still pregnant with Z when we started to look into Suvimol’s designs. I told her that even in Dubai, the royalties also carry this bag. Actually, even Eva Chen (EIC of Lucky magazine) herself, one of the icons in the fashion industry adores the brand. Of course being a real fashionista who never sticks with one brand alone, Yan developed a love affair with the creations of S’uvimol.

This bag became her instant favorite. She first wore it to a showbiz commitment. She also used this bag when the family celebrated mommy Amy’s birthday.

2. Hermes kelly 28 in pink nilo shiny croc

I know it would take a lot of you by surprise to learn that Hermes is not her most favorite. Although as I always say, the most fashionable people who are confident with their style never really stick to one brand alone. Just like Yan, being a queen herself, she knows exactly what she likes and is not afraid to experiment.

Although her collection of Hermes bags is honestly almost every girl’s goal, I love how she views them as a mere accessory and not as something to define her individuality.

She doesn’t really identify herself with these bags alone, let alone the brand, in fact she can leave the house and live as luxuriously without them.

Since time immemorial the Birkin and Kelly bags have been a status symbol to most of the society people. They often associate it with affluence what with its hefty price tags and long wait list. Yet, if you know how to carry yourself and if you really can set trends, you don’t let your bag carry you. You carry the bag and still stand out because of you. Exactly how Marian does it, Right?

  1. Lana Marks Bespoke Marian Rivera Cleopatra Clutch

Man, I don’t really think this needs a lot of explaining. It’s not everyday that a renowned designer names a bag after you. Imagine a piece especially created for you and was made according to your style and preferences.

One that can speak for itself; that when you look at it, people will immediately say: “Ah, that’s so her”

As seen on the official website of Lana Marks, alongside Hollywood actors who have their own version of the cleopatra bag designed for them, Marian’s bag stands out and was for a time the photo on their home page.

Ahhhh, makes me feel so proud to be of help to bring this for her.

Whew! I’m sure she had a hard time choosing only 5! I’m telling you, she has so much bags that the public hasn’t seen yet. She has a lot, really. You can’t even imagine. hahaha! Can’t wait for her to share all of them to us. At least one at a time.

Oh, and I know what you guys will say, don’t worry my next top 5 will be her favorite shoes which will be followed by her favorite twinning outfits with Princess Z.

Exciting isn’t it?

Cheers to a positive and happy 2017!
